Unified Component Library

Duration

6 Weeks

Tools

Figma • Sticky Notes • Paper Documentation

01

Problem

The Streams.AI interface had grown through years of feature additions without a unified design foundation. Similar actions looked and behaved differently across modules, which increased cognitive load for users and created repeated decision making for designers and developers.

Every strong product starts with thinking, not tools. I map the system, the user, and the constraints before touching a single frame. A well-reasoned structure makes the visual design almost inevitable

02

Objective

Clarity Is the
Feature

• Create a scalable component library for repeated Streams.AI interface patterns
• Standardize UI behavior, visual hierarchy, states, and component usage
• Build a flexible system that could grow with new product modules and workflows

• Create a scalable component library for repeated Streams.AI interface patterns
• Standardize UI behavior, visual hierarchy, states, and component usage
• Build a flexible system that could grow with new product modules and workflows

03

Outcome

Created a structured component library that became the foundation for consistent Streams.AI interface patterns. The system improved component reuse, reduced one off UI decisions, and gave developers clearer references for implementation across product modules.

04

Process

Interface audit → Pattern inventory → Sticky note clustering → Paper based component mapping → Component prioritization → Figma component creation → Variant and state definition → Usage documentation → Developer review → Component refinement → Library organization → Handoff alignment

Every strong product starts with thinking, not tools. I map the system, the user, and the constraints before touching a single frame. A well-reasoned structure makes the visual design almost inevitable
